Tea Alagić

Tea Alagić is an internationally acclaimed director based in New York City whose visually striking, physically dynamic work spans leading stages in the United States and Europe. Her directing credits include Romeo and Juliet at Classic Stage Company featuring Elizabeth Olsen and Daphne Rubin-Vega; the North American premiere of Elfriede Jelinek’s Jackie at New York City Center, nominated for Lucille Lortel Awards; Tarell Alvin McCraney’s The Brothers Size at The Public Theater, which helped launch the play to international recognition; and Passing Strange at The Wilma Theater, which received multiple Barrymore Award nominations. Recent projects include Fear by Matt Williams at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, Little Amal at Lincoln Center Plaza, and the world premiere of Anita Čeko’s Faraway Kandahar at the National Theatre in Split, Croatia. She holds an MFA in Directing from the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale University, where she received the Julian Milton Kaufman Prize in Directing.
